ROBERT HEWITT 1725
In the name of God Amen the Twenty Second Day of March in the year of our Lord 1724.I ROBERT HEWITT of Rockcliffe in the County of Cumberland,Yeoman,Being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given to God for ye same,calling in mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed to all man once to live.I do make and ordain this my last will and testament,that is to say principally and first of all,I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of God who gave it,and for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executers,nothing doughtiness but at ey general resurrection I shall receive the same again by ye almighty Power of God,And as touching such Holy estate joined with eternity pleased God to be the same in this life.I give devise and dispose in the following form.?one word looks like impurnis?
I give and bequeath to my Son THOMAS HEWITT the sum of one shilling.
Item,I give to my beloved Daughters Vis,MARY HEWITT,ELIZABETH HEWITT and JENNETT HEWITT,Whom I Likewise constitute and ordain the executors of this my last will and testament,all my goods and chattels,paying all my just debts,I do hereby utterly disallow,revoke.?One word not understand looks like disannul all and every other former testament,wills,legacys, bequests and executors,by me in any ways before this timed named wills,and bequests,ratifiying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.In witnesses whomof I have hereinto,My hand and seal the day of above written.
