JOHN HEWITT 1633
In the name of God ,amen,the last day off May anno Domini 1633,I JOHN HEWITT off Rockcliffe within the Parish of Rockcliffe and County of Cumberland,yeomam,being sicke in ye bodie yett perfect in remembrance minde,Praised be to god,makes this my last will and testament in the presence off the witnesses named as following .
Iperunis,I give and bequeathe my soulle unto Almighty god my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard off Rockcliffe my funeral expenses being discharged.
Item;I give and bequeath to WILLIAM HEWITT my brother,horse,one young cow and one beast.,and my portion off land in the garden,two swyne ,the one halfe of all my cornes biggs and ottes,one younge maire,all brasse harness and one arke and one chest,and the biggest of two chestes,the plough and plough geare and my best apparell.
Item;To ISSACC PARKAR one yard linen,and the other half of my cornes,biggs and ottes,one iron pott,one feather bed,and the one other off my bedde chests,
Item;I give and bequeathe to JANE the wiffe to ROBERT JACKSONE one bedstead and a frame and chest,two busshells of ottes and one bushell of biggs.
Item;I give and bequeath to EDMUND HEWITT one bushell of biggs,
Item;I give and bequeathe my best Cow to sell to bee to bury me formerly and to discharge my funeral expenses.
Item;to MABLE PARKAR the other stirk.and for the rest of my goods ,moveable or immovable I leave to WILLIAM HEWITT my brother my executor to this my last will and testament.
