HENRY HEWITT 1775
In the Name of God Amen,I HENRY HEWLETT of Rockcliffe in the Parish of Rockcliffe in the County of Cumberland,Yeoman,being weak but of perfect mind and memory,Thanks to Almighty God for the same calling to mind the mortality of my body how that is appointed to all men once to die.I do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following.First I give my soul to Almighty God who at first gave it,Secondly I give my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executrics and as touching those worldly things wherein it hath pleased God to endue me in this life,I dispose in manner and form following.First I give and bequeath to my son Robert one pound one shilling.Item,I give to my son WILLIAM HEWLETT two shillings and sixpence.Item,I give unto my son JOHN HEWLETT two shillings and sixpence.Item,I give unto my Daughter MARGERET HIND two shillings and sixpence.Item,I give unto my daughter JENNETT KNOTT Two shillings and sixpence.Item,Lastly I give devise and bequeath the rest of goods and chattels of what nature and kind soever and wheresoever the same now is or wherein I posses at any time of my death unto ELIZABETH HEWLETT my daughter and to her heirs forever and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said daughter whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former and other will or wills by me at any time heretofore made and declared this only to be my last will and testament in the presence of two credible witnesses who in my presence signed the names.In witness whereof and set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five .signed HENRY HEWETT
