HENRY HEWITT 1773

In the name of GOD Amen,I HENRY HEWITT of Cargo in the County of Cumberland,Yeoman,Being of sound mind,memory and understanding,but mindful of the uncertainty of this transition life do make,publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following,that is to say,First I commend my soul unto the hands of my blessed Maker and Redeemer hoping for pardon for all my past sins and offences,and the worldly effects where with I am possessed give and bequeath as follows.

First I give and bequeath my daughter ELIZABETH ROBSON wife of EDWARD ROBSON of Whitehaven in the said County of Cumberland[Looks like occupation,next word Hardwareman] the sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Brtitain.Item,I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter DOROTHY ROBSON of Cargo ion the County aforesaid

,Spinster the sum of five pounds of lawful money of Great Britain,which said legacies I devise and will may be paid to my executors herein after mentioned within one year of my decease,and all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects of what kind or nature soever the same be.I give dispose and bequeath unto my daughter MARGERET HEWITT of Cargo aforesaid Spinster willing and devising that she my said daughter MARGERET out of such residue of my personal estate and effects shall become possessed of after my decease,do and shall take care to supply my beloved wife MARY HEWITT during her life with all sufficient necessities of eating drinking and wearing apparrel,provided my said wife survives me and the said HENRY HEWITT.And I do hereby appoint,nominate,constitute my said daughter MARGERET HEWITT sole and whole executor of this my last will, and testament.And I do hereby ratify and confirm this to be my last will and testament revoking all former and other will and wills by me at any time heretofore made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand and sixty six in the presence of witnesses who have subscribed there names as witness hereto.

Signed sealed,published and declared by the said HENRY HEWITT the testator and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness hereto
