FRANCES HEWITT 1815

At Carlisle 20th May 1815 On which day appeared personally JOHN PEARS and alleged that FRANCES HEWITT late of Robinsons House in the parish of Hesket in the Forest in the County of Cumberland and diocese of Carlisle,widow deceased,died intestate without making a will,so far as he doth know or believe,that he his the nephew and sole next of kin of the said deceased.wherefor he prayed letters of administration of all and singular goods,chattels and credits of the said deceased,to be committed and granted to him the said JOHN PEARS on his giving sufficient and security in that behalf.

The Said JOHN PEARS was then sworn in due form of law to the truth of the promises and to faithfully administer and to exhibit a full and perfect inventory,and also to render a true and just account and so forth,when thereunto lawfully required,and that the goods,chattels and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of ten hundred pounds.
